THE SESSION

Meets on the 3rd Tuesday of the month, 6:30 p.m., Campbell Reception Room

In the Presbyterian tradition, elders are elected by the congregation to serve on the Session, the governing board of the church. The Session is responsible for governing the congregation and guiding the spiritual life of the church, so that the congregation is and becomes a community of faith, hope, love, and witness. Among other things, Session ensures that “the Word of God may be truly preached and heard and that the Sacraments may be rightly administered and received”. (Book of Order G-3.0201) Each Class serves a three year term.

Clerk of Session
Diane Morrison

Elders
Class of 2024: Diana Brown, William Harvey
Class of 2025: Lisa Blampied, Jeanine Castello-Lin, Elizabeth Patelke, Gail Peterson, Greg Rising
Class of 2026: Ron Amundson, Ralph Lastuka

The Session of St. John’s Presbyterian Church of Berkeley also serves as the Board of Trustees of the church. The Officers for June 2023 through June 2024 include:
Corporation President Diana Brown
Corporation Vice President: William Harvey
Corporation Secretary: Ralph Lastuka
Corporation Treasurer: Lynne Royer

In addition to the staff and session, prayer, numerous volunteers and the Deacon Ministry keep the church running smoothly.
