| When you
arrive As you enter the sanctuary area, you will see our Ushers and Greeters. They will give you an Order of Service bulletin, and can assist you with finding a seat. There is no reserved seating; try sitting in different spots each time you attend for a different experience. We have large print hymnals available for those who need them. If you desire a headset for hearing the service, please let us know and one will be loaned to you during the service. Each Sunday, we have announcements and the "Passing of the Peace” among God's children, and the Lord’s Prayer. The music for the Sunday morning worship service is traditional, taken primarily from The Presbyterian Hymnal (1990). Accompaniment for congregational singing is the organ or piano, and may include more musicians. Communion is observed on the second Sunday of each month, with all invited to participate. You do not need to be a St. John’s member or a Presbyterian to participate in the Lord's Supper. ![]() Annual outdoor service |
![]() Youth minister Sarah Harling and Pastor Max, Time for Children Each Sunday, the "Time for Children" sermon gives our youth a special time of their own. If you have children, they are invited to participate. Following the children's sermon, the youth attend Sunday School classes to learn more about God, Heros of the bible and of today. Childcare, for children under 4 years of age, is available in the nursery during worship. For a tour of the nursery, call the office at 510-845-6830. For a Tour of the Church and Center facilities, click here. Also, following the service is our Coffee Fellowship, a wonderful time to get hydrated, nourished and share God, and our lives, with each other. The Sunday Forum, St. John’s Adult Education class, begins at 11:30 a.m. in the Fireside Room. The Sunday Focus addresses national issues that affect our community. Issues of the Sermons are available in the Narthex and online: click here Also on Sundays, in the Narthex, we collect nonperishable food for our Homeless food closet. |
