Per Capita Tax is due for 2012

At the Nov 8 Presbytery meeting, the Presbytery of SF voted to set the 2012 per capita at $32.00 per active member.  St. John's owes $4,416.00.  Please submit $32.00 per member in your household.  Be sure to write "per capita tax" on your check and either drop it in the offering plate or mail it to the church office to Elisay Digiuseppe.  Most years we don't collect for all members and the church foots the difference.  If you can pay a little more than your $32.00 to help cover someone else, that would be most appreciated.  The amount due is based on our active members, which as of December 31, 2010 were 138.

GODLY PLAY, the new Sunday children's ministry program. . .

has started! We have a bunch of new teachers and look forward to seeing you there, too. YOUNG ADULT FELLOWSHIP GROUP. . .

will meet on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month, beginning January 10. The group meets at church at 7:00 p.m. to share a meal and have Bible study. For the new year we are also offering free childcare. Email Pastor Karen at Karen@stjohnsberkeley.org a week in advance and she will have someone available.

Camp Elmwood 2012!

Dates have been set for Camp Elmwood, St. John's summer outreach program to the community. Camp Elmwood's Teen Leadership Camp for ages 13-18 will be August 6-10. Camp Elmwood for ages 5-13 and teen counselors who have attended Teen Leadership Camp will be August 13-17.  Leaders will be Fred Harvey, Karen Thistlethwaite, Don Rising, and Nelly Coplan. Our show and barbeque for the congregation and community will be Friday evening, August 17. Please pick up flyers to post and applications to distribute.
