St. John’s Prime Timers (Senior Activity Group) has been meeting for over 40 years, attracting adults, age 50 and over, to engage in crafts, exercise and camaraderie. The Tuesday morning group is small, but enthusiastic and friendly. Newcomers are always welcome to join our activities – no appointment necessary, just drop in!
Members contribute about $20 a month to cover expenses and a small salary for our popular ceramics teacher, Diana Bohn. A few members work with copper enameling, lead the exercise class, and inspires the writing group. Every Tuesday, Volunteers pick up donated breads from La Farine Bakery, and the bread is shared with the seniors and the three schools at St. John’s. Once a month, Teri-Ann Perry does blood pressure checks and Jackie Parsons bakes desserts and birthday cakes. Friendships blossom on Tuesday mornings that are maintained during the week and through periods of need and illness. It’s a wonderful bundle of energy – come join in on the fun.
